EXHAUST AND TURBO BLANKETS
The temperatures for the mufflers, the exhaust pipes, and the turbo/manifold are extremely dangerous and too hot to operate safely. Bringing the surface temperature down becomes a necessity to prevent the majority of fires caused by the coal dust settling or the hydraulic oil spraying.
Why Pyrogard?
Oil, fuel, grease, and moisture resistant
Extra layers of cloth completely encloses fiberglass
Choose which fasteners work best for your team
Tailored to fit your fleet
Touch temperature heavily reduced
Keeping your team safe is a necessity.
Our thermal exhaust blankets keep your workers protected from hot exhausts and avoids dangerous thermal incidents. By preventing equipment fires, blankets will protect hot exhaust components from oil and fuel leaks. Most of all, our thermal exhaust blankets are easy to install, and you won't have to expose yourself to itchy fiberglass. Choose the fasteners best suited to your team and your mechanics.
What are thermal blankets?
Thermal covers are a composite insulating media which acts as a barrier between the exposed hot surfaces of an engine and/or exhaust system to reduce the touch surface temperature.
What are some common blanket types?
We have a series of thermal blankets types to choose from, below is images of our 7000 series, 8000 series and 9000 series.
Is exhaust wrap the same thing as thermal blankets?
Exhaust wrap is not the same thing as a thermal blanket (see image below for an example between the two).
Exhaust wrap forms tightly around an component whereas the Mammoth thermal blankets are rigid and form fitting. Our thermal blankets also come with a embossed pattern that is designed to form to the shape of the component and this pattern allows convective cooling. As you can see in the 8000 and 9000 series, if you were to press this blanket onto a surface, it will still have small air gaps which is completely different to exhaust wrap which is directly pressed against the component with no air gaps.
In short, our 8000, 9000 and 10,000 series thermal blankets come with an embossed foil layer allowing convective cooling by way of an air gap.
Operating conditions in the mining industry can be dangerous, but experts are diligent in their approach to risk management. To ensure your peace of mind, equip your machinery with Mammoth’s PyroGard thermal blankets, the leading technology for managing fire risk and thermal protection. After years of progressive innovation the PyroGard, thermal blanket has developed superior insulation for use in all high temperature areas where the demand for reduction in surface temperature is of the upmost importance.
As opposed to typical exhaust lagging which is tightly wrapped around a component, the Mammoth thermal covers are rigid form-fitting with an embossed pattern that is designed to follow the shape of the component.
