The Mammoth Journey

1974

Beginnings
Mammoth started as Perth’s first specialist exhaust fitting shop, Perth Exhaust Centre, founded by Bill Draffin and his sons. The journey began with two stores in Inglewood and Vic Park, WA.

1983

Expansion into Manufacturing
The company began manufacturing exhausts for mining and earthmoving equipment under the brand Finn-ex, laying the foundation for future growth.

1985

National Distribution
Finn-ex expanded to manufacture and import automotive exhaust parts, distributing them nationally across Australia.

1988

Serving the Mining Market
Mammoth increased its manufacturing of earthmoving and mining exhaust parts, meeting the growing supply needs of the Australian market.

1993

Regional Growth
Manufacturing moved to Kalannie to support regional development, with a factory that marked the start of Mammoth’s global expansion to over 30 locations and 300 employees.

The Birth of Mammoth
To reflect the growing range of truck, earthmoving, and mining exhausts, the Mammoth name was born, symbolizing strength and growth in the Australian market.

2005

A New Chapter
After splitting from the Draffin family business, Mammoth became a standalone entity, setting the stage for independent growth.

National Distribution Hub
A new premises in Canning Vale, Perth, was established to support national product distribution.

2010

Embracing Innovation
Mammoth began selling imported AdBlue® and was soon certified to manufacture AdBlue® under license, demonstrating a commitment to environmental solutions.

Expanding to the East Coast
A new branch on the East Coast was established, along with expanded manufacturing in Kalannie to support increased demand in the mining and road transport sectors.

2014

North American Market Entry
Mammoth entered the North American market with a branch in Winnipeg, catering to underground mining opportunities. A manufacturing facility in Mackay, QLD, supported the Bowen Basin mining sector.

Meeting Growing Demand
Additional premises in Perth and new contracts, including a major sound attenuation project with Rio Tinto, marked significant growth.

Expanding Manufacturing Capabilities
New branches and AdBlue® plants in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, and Mackay were opened, supporting the company’s first Tier 1 Fuel supply contract.

Global Reach in AdBlue®
New locations in Darwin, Devonport, Christchurch, and Tauranga expanded Mammoth’s AdBlue® market, with manufacturing commencing in Winnipeg for North America.

South American Ventures
Mammoth expanded into South America, opening a branch in Buenos Aires to manufacture and sell exhausts, thermal blankets, and AdBlue® across Argentina, Chile, and Brazil.

Strategic Global Expansion
With new branches in Edmonton and Montreal and operations in Malaysia, Mammoth positioned itself for future global manufacturing and shared services support.

New Horizons
Entities in Chile and South Africa were established, and the first Asian facility opened in Selangor, Malaysia, enhancing global sales, service, and manufacturing capabilities.
